BIS HCMC warmly welcomed back 30 alumni from universities across the globe for a special event organised by our College and University Guidance Counsellor Team. The day was led by four of our CUG Student Ambassadors, who helped connect current sixth form students with invaluable insights from life beyond BIS. The event was a resounding success, bringing together past and present students in a celebration of community, learning, and shared experience.

Congratulations to Devon in Year 12, who has been awarded a Social Impact Grant from Nord Anglia Education in collaboration with students from the British Vietnamese International School (BVIS HCMC) and British Vietnamese International School Hanoi (BVIS Hanoi) to support Lovientus –Lovien Lotus, a student-led initiative to design and produce prosthetic legs for people in Vietnam living with disabilities and facing financial hardship. It's a shining example of how student collaboration across Nord Anglia schools can create meaningful impact.

Our students have once again achieved outstanding results in the outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards. In the June 2025 examination series 12 students earned 15 awards, including 7 Top in the World and 6 Top in Vietnam awards. One student also achieved Best across 8 Subjects - First place in Vietnam, an exceptional accomplishment that reflects remarkable academic breadth. Another student demonstrated an incredible accomplishment in a less studied subject, receiving a High Achievement award.

Our incredible U15 athletes represented BIS HCMC at the FOBISIA Games in Thailand—a three-day celebration of sport, teamwork, and determination. Competing against top schools from across Asia, our students showed true BIS spirit in athletics, basketball, football, and swimming. What makes FOBISIA special? It’s not just one sport—it’s a test of versatility, resilience, and passion. From sprinting on the track to diving into the pool, from fast-paced basketball courts to strategic football matches, our athletes gave it their all!

Last month we were proud to have three student ambassadors attend this year’s NAE-UNICEF Student Summit, hosted for the first time ever in Houston, Texas from 12 to 19 June 2024. The event was hosted at Nord Anglia’s two schools in the city: The Village School and the British International School of Houston. Houston was chosen as the ideal location for the Summit thanks to being the first officially recognised “Child-Friendly City” in the United States of America.

In March, we welcomed student STEAM teams from St. Andrews Bangkok, Nord Anglia International School Manila, and Regents International School Pattaya, alongside our sister schools in Vietnam; BVIS HCMC, BIS Hanoi and BVIS Hanoi to join the NAE SEA STEAM Festival 2024. The theme for this year was “Otherworldly” where each expeditionary team prepared for populating an exoplanet, planning everything from delivering their supplies, to building transportation and shelter.

Last week two of our students, JaeYeon and Caitlin, joined over 100 NAE student delegates from around the world at the NAE-UNICEF Student Summit in New York City. This was an extraordinary opportunity for them to develop their leadership and advocacy skills and collaborate with like-minded students to cultivate their social purpose through the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
